Five Haiku Poems

A resistance tale—
the mouflon and wild boar still
in Mount Capanne.

Una storia duratura—
il muflone e il cinghiale selvatico
ancora sul Monte Capanne

Originally published with an Italian
translation in page 93 of the anthology
Rondini e Haiku migrano a Capoliveri
(Swallows and Haiku Migrate to Capoliveri)
which was released in May 2014 by Pagine,
Roma, Italy.

               ***

A mythical fish
in the Tyrrhenian Sea—
Isola d’Elba.

               ***

Fireflies glowing in
the vineyard’s obscurity—
Glasses of red wine.

               ***

Fresh fragrances of orchids
luring a bee swarm—
A dark labyrinth.

               ***

Autumnal breeze plus
the scents of swallows’ feathers
— A panacea.
